Bio

SABAKU NO GAARA
History: Gaara was born the youngest son of the head of the Sabaku Industries, a company dealing mostly with import and exporting goods. Sadly for Gaara, he never knew his mother who died in childbirth. Instead he was raised by his mother's brother Yashamaru, and was more or less fairly sheltered when he was younger. This drastically changed when he was six, and his intoxicated uncle tried to kill the boy. Luckily for Gaara's sake he was saved, but the incident has left him with an fear of blood. Just what became of his uncle is unknown, however.

He could more or less be pegged as the creepy Goth kid, since from then on he became fairly withdrawn, and disliking of many people. Luckily for most, as he grew older and got some actual psychiatric help (thanks to his father) the young man isn't as violent or abusive as he once was. However there is a part of him that (so far) no medical help can really put away. An alternative personality, Shukaku, crops up when the young man is emotionally distress. A defence mechanism, the angry part of Gaara will lash out physically and verbally to take down anything, and anyone, in his path.

There is another side to Gaara. While he pegs himself as an excellent liar, he has put this to good use in his choice of career. He plans to be on stage one day, preforming be it musically or in plays. On stage he is allowed to pull on another persons' face, become them completely, and remove himself completely from the twisted shell he calls his own body. He has high tuned these abilities since his incident with his uncle, when Gaara entered school it was boarding schools. He was kept at arms length from his family, seeing them on holidays and family days only. He had no real problems with this, but it has caused a big rift between himself and his older sister and brother. He hopes to mend this, deep down, but has no idea how.

Appearance: He has no eyebrows. That is probably the first thing you really notice, before you're struck at just how bright his red hair is. Is it chemical, or natural? You could ask, but that does not mean he would answer. The same goes for if you ask him whether or not he shaves his eyebrows (he probably does). His eyes are a light sea green, and his eyelids are normally heavy lidded from his almost insomniac-like life style. But he also uses mascara, painting his eyelids dark black. When he's working, Gaara wears the expected Konoha Mart uniform, and the large smock and plastic gloves for working in the meat department. Outside of that, in his private hours, Gaara wears a lot of blacks, reds, whites, stripes, fishnets, collars, and other shiny clothes that are to his tastes.

Personality: You need a road map to fully, and properly, manouver around Gaara's personality. With people he knows, such as his brother and sister, Gaara is fairly open and direct, but still respectful. He cares a lot about his family, the loss of his mother and his uncle having been the root behind this mindset. At school and work, Gaara is strictly business and dislikes being talked to too often. He might even seem rude, which he is, sometimes. But with total strangers he isn't afraid to speak his mind, bluntly, and to the point of insults. It just depends on what level of friendship you have with the redhead that determines just how he treats you.

Occupation and Education: Keys accounts for a Workers Compensation company when he isn't studying or at work. In University Gaara is studying theatrical arts, literature, and art ranging from drawing to clay sculpting. He expresses much of which he cannot verbally through his artwork.

Hobbies: Outside of work, Gaara is surprisingly artistic. He draws, paints, and makes sculptures out of clay mixed with sand. Whilst he's doing this, he has his music loud like he always does. Surprisingly, Gaara's preference to music isn't limited to long haired men yelling and head banging. You'd be surprised to walk by his room and hear songs by ABBA, the BeeGees, and even Elvis filling the halls with noise. He also, now and then, goes to karaoke bars and sings for his own amusement.
